Please join us in welcoming Coach Darrell “Coach Red” Redmond as the new head coach of the Apache Junction High School Girls’ Basketball program.
Coach Red brings with him a remarkable 18 years of coaching experience, a deep love for the game, and a commitment to the growth and success of our student-athletes.
Coach Red’s journey in basketball began as a player at Odessa Community College in Texas, where he honed his skills and gained valuable insights from a player’s perspective. This experience served as the foundation for his deep understanding of the sport. He continued his journey at Missouri Southern State University, where he played for an additional two years, further enriching his connection to basketball.
His experiences as a player have molded Coach Red into the dedicated mentor he is today, emphasizing the values of teamwork, discipline, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence. AJHS is thrilled to welcome him to guide our girls on their basketball journey and is looking forward to an exciting season under his leadership.

The 2023-24 AJHS Girls' Basketball season tips off on Monday, November 20th at Eastmark High School. The Lady Prospectors Home Opener is Thursday, November 30th, against Barry Goldwater.
