What We Do
AJUSD offers a full continuum of services to support students with disabilities from preschool through high school, in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Services include:
- Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Inclusive classroom support
- Resources and self-contained programs
- Speech and language therapy
- Occupational and physical therapy
- Counseling and social-emotional support
- Transition planning and life skills
- Assistive technology
We work closely with families to build strong, personalized learning plans that reflect each child’s strengths, challenges, and future goals.
Family Partnerships
We know that parents and guardians are essential partners in the special education process. AJUSD is committed to open communication, collaboration, and transparency. Our staff provides guidance and support at every step, from initial evaluation through annual IEP meetings and beyond.

Our Team
Our department is made up of certified special education teachers, speech-language pathologists, psychologists, occupational and physical therapists, paraprofessionals, and support staff who are passionate about helping students succeed.
