Spring Forward: A Season for Fresh Starts in AJUSD

“Though I cannot go back and make a brand-new start, I can start from now and make a brand-new ending.” – Carl Bard
Spring is a season of renewal. The desert blooms, the air warms, and the world feels alive with possibility. It’s a time of growth, of looking ahead, of planting seeds for the future. And yet, too often, our community finds itself stuck in the past—rehashing old decisions, revisiting old frustrations, and reliving what was instead of focusing on what can be.
The truth is, no amount of frustration or debate can change past board decisions, reverse staff changes you may disagree with, or undo district policies that might not sit well with you. There’s no rewind button. But what can be done is shaping the future for our kids—the ones here now, walking into our classrooms, stepping onto our fields, and dreaming about what comes next.
We may not always agree on everything, but we all want what’s best for our students. That’s common ground we can stand on. And standing together means moving forward—not getting tangled in what’s behind us, but investing in what’s ahead.
So, if you want to see change, be part of it. Volunteer in a classroom. Support a student club. Cheer from the sidelines. Help with a fundraiser. Every little effort is a seed planted, and when we nurture those seeds, they grow into something bigger—something better.
That’s exactly what we’re doing at AJUSD. Our Premier Programs are leveling up our schools, giving students more choices, more opportunities to explore their passions, and a future full of promise. We are investing in new beginnings. And that’s what spring is all about: fresh starts, renewed hope, and a belief that the best is yet to come.
The past may be written, but the future? That’s still ours to shape.
